Just a few weeks before the official start of the tourism season in Greece, our Hotel Experts decided to perform thorough research, looking for the most popular keywords related to the destination. From the very beginning, it became clear that the battle between the famous Greek islands and the historic capital still goes strong, as keywords like “Santorini Greece hotels”, “Mykonos Greece hotels”, “hotels in Athens” and “best hotels in Athens Greece”, stand between the top 25 searched trends, with more than 1.600 Avg. Monthly Searches each.
Furthermore, the small difference in the number of searches between terms like “luxury villas Greece”, “luxury hotels Greece”, “boutique hotels Greece” and “luxury resorts Greece” revealed that, when it comes to high-end holidays, travelers are interested in a plethora of accommodation types. With that being said, two specific keywords, “hotels/villas with private pools Greece” and “ Greece hotels/villas on the beach” attract a great number of people, with their combined monthly searches reaching 5.380.
Another thought-provoking observation was travelers’ preference of both large and small-scale hotels, as keywords like “all-inclusive resorts in Greece for families” and “small/design hotels in Greece” gather between 250 and 750 Avg. Monthly Searches.
Last but not least, our research presented also three new trends regarding the Greek Hospitality Market, which, although lower in volume and frequency, indicate an increasing demand for unique and signature experiences. These keywords are “self-catering villas Greece”, “adult hotels Greece” and “farm stay Greece”. In any case, the Greek Summer is approaching and brings along unforgettable moments of happiness.
